Self Catering Cottage in Keswick

The lovely market town of Keswick in the Northern Lakes is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the National Park. It is a town for all seasons and has a host of activities, both indoor and outdoor. The town has many shops and restaurants to meet all of your holiday needs. All of the attractions of Keswick are only a short walk from Derwent Cottage.

There are two very well maintained parks in the town where you can sit and watch the world go by whilst admiring the lovely flower beds, or play golf, bowls or tennis. Keswick Leisure Pool is only a few hundred yards from Derwent Cottage and has a very good pool as well as fitness facilities.

The Cars of the Stars Museum features famous vehicles from film and TV and is worth a visit. The Cumberland Pencil Museum shows a history of pencil making in the area. The Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is home to some important collections from the area and has regular exhibitions.

The Theatre by the Lake has year round performances of theatre, musical events and exhibitions as well as hosting annual film, literary and jazz festivals. Just a few steps from the theatre the Derwentwater launch can be found.

There is a great range of outdoor pursuits available in the area as well as an abundance of wonderful walks and cycling opportunities. Bike hire is available in Keswick and there are many cycle routes and forest trails.
